ESRD patients are a very small percentage of the patient population, but constitute a very large portion of the costs. Many organizations are completely unprepared to appropriately contain costs when these patients begin dialysis. Through our Renal Data Management program, DCC, Inc. can help employer groups be preemptive, putting cost containment measures in place to potentially avoid huge monthly dialysis expenditures. We utilize specific diagnosis and trigger codes to identify the Chronic Kidney Disease patients at the latter stages of the CKD progression. This gives us the ability to look at a number of options in containing costs on dialysis as well as the ability to work with existing case management to educate members on alternative treatment modalities.
